De Musix
English and Spanish are 100% supported by Musix from the Live-CD out of the box, that means: you dont need to install extra software packages to use the system in english or spanish.
Other languages are only partially supported from the Live-CD out of the box: Italian, French, German, Portuguesse, Polish, Finish and Catalan. Also, you can easily install Gallego and Euskera packages from the get-language script or from Synaptic.
To be clear, almost all GTK apps are supported in Italian, French, German, Portuguesse, Polish, Finish and Catalan. GTK apps are those like GIMP, Leafpad, Abiword, and all who uses the GTK libraries. IceWm menu will be in you language too, but some parts will be in english or spanish (those parts that belong to Musix's exclusive development: we need you help to translate some system parts)
A special note: Rosegarden (the fabulous MIDI/Audio sequencer) uses to be translated out of the box in almost all languages, so, this is a good news.
Also, system messages will be in Italian, French, German, Portuguesse, Polish, Finish and Catalan, but not in all the cases: we advice you to install all your language packages from a Musix installed on hard disk:
KDE apps: for instance:
kde-i18n-it - Italian (it) internationalized (i18n) files for KDE
Manual pages, for instance:
manpages-fr - French version of the manual pages about using GNU/Linux
Dictionaries for myspell spellchecker
myspell-pl - The Polish dictionary for myspell
And so...
Sometimes, is good to type into a Konsole:
apt-cache search french
And you will see something like this:
manpages-fr - French version of the manual pages about using GNU/Linux
manpages-fr-dev - French version of the development manual pages
manpages-fr-extra - French version of the manual pages
mozilla-firefox-locale-fr-fr - French language package for Iceweasel (transitional package)
mypasswordsafe - Easy-to-use password manager
myspell-fr - The French dictionary for myspell (Hydro-Quebec version)
myspell-fr-gut - The French dictionary for myspell (GUTenberg version)
openoffice.org-help-fr - French help for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-l10n-fr - French language package for OpenOffice.org
So you can install them like this:
apt-get install manpages-fr myspell-fr
and so...
